A Day in the Life of a Beachcomber

Welcome to A Day in the Life of a Beachcomber, a collection of stories from the Cornish coast, brought to you by Natural Wonder Jewellery.

Beachcombing is a wonderful way to explore the beaches of Cornwall. With every tide comes the possibility of discovering something new — from beautifully frosted sea glass and weathered pottery to shells, pebbles and other little treasures shaped by the sea.

In this series, I’ll be taking you along on my beachcombing adventures around Cornwall, visiting different beaches and sharing the things I discover along the way. Each beach has its own character, coastline and treasures to uncover, and you never quite know what the next walk will reveal.

Discovering Sea Glass on the Cornish Coast

As a sea glass jewellery maker, beachcombing is an important part of the inspiration behind Natural Wonder Jewellery. I love searching the shoreline for pieces of sea glass that have been naturally tumbled and smoothed by the waves over many years.

Some days bring wonderful finds, while others involve plenty of walking and very little sea glass at all! But that is part of the magic of beachcombing — you never know what you might find.

Through these beachcombing blogs, I’ll share the beaches I visit, the sea glass and other treasures I discover, and some of the stories and moments that make exploring the Cornish coastline so special.

Whether you’re an experienced beachcomber, a lover of Cornish beaches and the sea, or simply curious about where sea glass comes from, I hope these stories give you a glimpse into the world behind my handmade jewellery.

So, come along and explore Cornwall with me, one beach at a time.

Who knows what the next tide might have left behind?
